Does Chaparral Physiotherapy & Massage direct bill to my Insurance Provider?
For many Canadians, health insurance providers cover all cost or a portion of the cost of physiotherapy and massage care. Some extended health insurance plans may require a physician’s referral in order to reimburse you for physiotherapist or massage service, but it’s not always necessary. Call your health insurance provider to confirm your level of coverage beforehand and to determine whether or not you require a physician referral for reimbursement.
We can direct bill Physiotherapy and Massage Therapy to the following;
* Currently we do not have an Alberta Health Services contract for post surgery Physio coverage
* Please note that not all plans allow for direct billing, or need a condition met such as a doctor’s note or direct submission from the insured. Insurance companies will only discuss plan requirements with the insured member and not the third party trying to bill, by law, and only shows the biller if it passes or fails. Therefore, if direct billing fails, it is the insured member that needs to contact the insurer to find out why, and the patient is expected to pay the full amount of treatment by one of the other listed payment methods.
We also direct bill to WCB and Insurance companies for Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA)
* MVA physio rates are different than private rates.
